Homes without barriers

• Many tenants of housing associations and councils need things like rails, ramps, stairlifts and showers fitted in their homes to help them be more independent and safer.  Some disabled people prefer to move to a more suitable home.
• Across Devon many landlords have signed up to an agreement called Homes Without Barriers to provide better services.
• A new tenants group was formed last year to scrutinise this agreement and make sure it is working properly.
• They have already had an impact by reviewing the information on Devon Homes Choice and suggesting improvements.  They have lots more activities planned for this year.
• Would you like to be involved in this friendly and active group?  You could make a big difference to the lives of people who are ill or disabled.
